A social dissection of a city, five years of investigations, artworks and film 'Recall'.

204 Artefacts have been investigated, catalogued and fragment collected. The fragment touched by generations past is scientifically analysed for fluorescence and its physical worn influences, allowing resonances of the past to seep into the analysis and creative process.

Investigation Top Ten Locations:

The Mary Rose, HMS Victory, Portsmouth Football Club, Age Concern, City Museum, Chinese Community, Spitbank Fort, DDay Museum, Hilsea Lido, Women's African Forum.

The investigations have led to architectural projection work, the film Recall, exhibitions and installations. Abroad 'Mysteres des Memoires' an installation in a Cathar cave was a response to Seran’s investigation in a Mid-Pyrenees village, - a Laureate winning commission.

Recall film

Recall invokes memories stored in fragments of aged objects from the investigtaions seen on this site. Seran Kubisa's scientific process extracts the artwork an intrinsic part of the film reel. The investigated objects are from 1545 to 20th Century. It is a meditation on five years of investigations, with music by composers Robert fage and Stephen Tait. Recalls' objects can be seen here, look at the artefact list to see an object you recognise.

Funded by Arts Council England through the National Lottery and Patron David Pointer
