History of Artefact It’s full of decorative inscriptions relating to the First World War including the British flag.
It was made by Naval wives and it was sold to raise money for the Lady Beatty Battle Fund (support for widows). Lady Beatty was the wife of Admiral Beatty.

Special Memories Portsmouth was very involved in the battle of Jutland - there was lots of solidarity between the Naval wives.
