Artefact Description	A complete Boxwood Rosary with beads and a cross. Forty-three plain beads, one ribbed bead, five larger beads and three toggles forming a cross. Light brown in colour. Good condition.

History of Artefact	It was found on the main deck at the stern of the ship and underneath a chest. Fifty-three chests were found at the shipwreck site. Only officers would have these chests because they would have valuable objects to lock away. There were also some storage chests on board. Seven Rosaries were found in total. ‘The owner would have been Catholic. Henry VIII was the head of the Church of England – but people obviously had different religious beliefs on board the ship.’ Historian - Andy Elkerton
