History of Artefact The fragment came from a lock of Nelson’s hair. It was given to Emma Hamilton by Lord Nelson.

Special Memories It was purchased at an auction in Salisbury just recently, in May 2008. It’s now for sale in the Antiques shop in the Historic Dockyard.

The painting shows a section of a panoramic painting by Daniel Maclise, that is in the Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool, and is a replica of a fresco in the Royal Gallery of the Houses of Parliament.
