| History of Artefact | Embroidered by Nellie Whichelo of the Royal School of Needlework. Originally made for the High Aaltar? , re-made for the Lady Chapel in 1992. The embroidery was transferred on to 1950's silk. Christ represented by an oak tree. Other emblems reflect Portsmouth - connections to the sea and the Royal Navy. |
