Artefact Description	Gun Breech rope (40lb). Very poor condition. Weathered by sea and pollution. Originally made of Manila. The rope is Hawser Laid and pointed at each end. 30ft in length and 3 inches in width.

History of Artefact	The Gun Breech rope (40lb) is used to hold the gun in place and it controls the gun recoil - Armstrong Breech Loader. There are four upper-deck 40lb guns. Other guns are 110lb Breech Loader and 68lb Muzzle Loader.
